Everyone in Knoxville, one of the best college towns in Tennessee, including the residents of Tellico Lake waterfront homes and Loudon real estate developments, is encouraged to send a tweet about their favorite South Knoxville business; the tweet must include a picture of the tweeter at the location in order to qualify. Tweets should be sent to the Boomsday site in order to win two VIP tickets to the festival. Hurry! The deadline for tweets is August 12.
The Boomsday Festival takes place along the downtown waterfront. Because of its location, the fireworks display can be viewed from both banks, as well as from the nearby South Gay Street bridge. Residents of Tellico Lake waterfront homes and Loudon real estate developments are able to boat over and tie up to the dock downtown to get started on the fun, food and festivities in the early part of the day. In the evening they can return to their vessels to watch the magical fireworks from their “front row seats” on the water.
Last, but not least, music is a very striking and important part of the day’s happenings. Performers such as the popular Amanda Cramer, who has made a mark for herself in the area with her original works, and the Cerebral Mechanics Dance Crew, well-known in the Tennessee Association of Dance, will be bringing their unique styles to the live performance stage from 5pm-9pm. Most notably, the magnificent fireworks display is actually choreographed to music which will be broadcast over loud speakers at the display as well as a local radio station.
