Cypress Landing on Chocowinity Bay is a charming boating and award-winning golf neighborhood that began development in the mid-1990s upstream from Goose Creek State Park and off the Pamlico Sound.  One of the few North Carolina coastal communities with a deepwater marina, Cypress Landing’s 900 acres have approximately 640 quality, custom-built Lowcountry and traditional American brick style homes built on the 711 property sites. Winding roads lead to welcoming cul-de-sacs lined with mature trees, gorgeous landscaping and lakes accented with fountains for year-round curb appeal. The 9,000 square foot Cypress Landing Bay Club is a hub for activities, with a bar, outdoor patio, and event ballroom featuring a breathtaking view of the marina and Chocowinity Bay on the Pamlico River.

"This multi-generational community is the most welcoming community that I have ever lived in. I have made more friends in the almost four years that I have lived in Cypress Landing than I have ever made in all the combined locales in which I have previously lived. The annual fee to live in this community is very modest compared to that of other communities, and for that annual fee you get free use of a large community swimming pool, a smaller lap pool, a fitness center with lots of fitness machines, and tennis courts. There are parties and gatherings galore at the community center, and there is a beautiful golf course, a marina, and a yacht club in our community. Anyone can join the yacht club---even if you don't have a boat---and many non-boat owners do join just because of the great parties that they yacht club throws. And if you are of retirement age or near retirement age and are afraid that you might not have enough to do when you retire, that will not be the case if you live here! We have lots of fun groups to join, such as the newsletter committee, the environmental committee, the culture and education committee, the Blue Hats (a volunteer carpenter/builder group), a walking group, and lots more. And so many of us also volunteer in the town and city at large. We are a helpful, interesting group of folks, and our community is truly the happiest community in which to live!!!"

"Weather is seldom a issue for boating on the Potomac River and we have a beautiful golf course with Audubon sanctuary rating. In addition we have tennis, walking trails, fitness center and two swimming pools. Residents are multicultural and of a wide age range. Some have children and some still work. Volunteer participation is very high, we are friendly, caring and multi-talented. We are community managed with dues comparing very favorably with other communities. We are not a gated community so we do not own street maintenance, the water/sewer system or lighting. Police protection is outstanding and the crime rate is virtually non existent. All properties and common areas are attractive and in good repair. Undeveloped lots are not random and are mowed each autumn to remove underbrush. We have no traffic issues. We are ideally situated within close proximity to New Bern,Washington and Greenville with its outstanding medical center, East Carolina Univ., and shopping. The triangle is an easy 2 hrs away that offers just about anything else one would need. Washington has a thriving arts community, owns a restored theater and provides a range of high quality performances. If this mix of criteria are important to you, you will likely not find it anywhere else; least not in NC."
