Western North Carolina’s Best Music & Arts Festival - Bele Chere

Best Art Town Asheville
Published on July 23, 2012

Celebrating 34 years, Bele Chere kicks off this week, the brain child of downtown Asheville merchants. The concept; to showcase their scenic city hugging the Blue Ridge Parkway nicknamed Land in the Sky. This city brings folks into downtown to enjoy the event and while they explore Asheville real estate. The success of the Southeast’s largest FREE music and arts festival has spread like wildfire, attracting hundreds of thousands of people each year, to enjoy the three day event. The mix of live music, collectible art and delicious food is phenomenal! More than 40 bands featuring all types of music will rock the four stages in downtown Asheville, at the Coxe Avenue Stage, Biltmore Stage, Battery Park Stage and Haywood Stage.

Known as one of America’s Best Art Towns, over 100 artists display their creative masterpieces along the downtown streets and in dozens of Asheville’s art galleries. If you’re an art collector, this is an annual event you must see in your lifetime. Asheville is one of America’s favorite cities with an impressive list of accolades including Foodtopia and Best Beer City. Asheville’s top culinary chefs are ready to please the crowds again at the Taste of Asheville in Pack Square, one of several dining areas where Bele Chere attendees can eat extraordinary food and taste microbrewery beers.

Bele Chere attracts hippies, yuppies and kids alike, along with folks searching for the best places to live in Western North Carolina. One of Bele Chere’s famous family events is Purina’s Ultimate Air Dogs competition where athletic pooches fly through the air catching a frisbee and then land in a temporary swimming pool. The Bele Chere Children’s Area is located inside U.S. Cellular Center, offering kids a mix of crafts, rides, and live concert performances. This year, the Bele Chere 5K and Fit Families Fun Run has moved into downtown Asheville at the new Pack Square Park. The 5K new race course will have more running inside the festival’s boundary then ever before.

Folks who live in Asheville NC condos can expect to experience a bit of inconveniences during Bele Chere in this best art town, where as local’s who live nearby in the Village of Cheshire, SouthCliff and Biltmore Lake are blessed by being located out of the heart of the city. All three of these master planned communities are adjacent to Blue Ridge Parkway entrances.
