Each year Business North Carolina Magazine names the Top 100 Golf Courses in America. This year, Balsam Mountain Preserve’s golf course designed by Arnold Palmer has been recognized again as one of the Top 5 Mountain Golf Courses in North Carolina. A panel of forty or more judges who have played the course qualify to vote for the Top 100. At elevations reaching 3,700 feet, playing Balsam Mountain Preserve’s course is both a challenging and sensory experience. The mountainous terrain borders narrow fairways and generous putting greens with distracting jaw-dropping mountain views. Rushing streams and echoing wildlife amplify the golfing experience.
