Between boating on the Albemarle Sound, heading out to the unspoiled Outer Banks beaches or spending the day on the links challenging the 18 hole championship golf course, the choice could be tough deciding which way to enjoy your day at in one of the well known coastal retirement communities. With a milder four season climate, the Ablemarle Plantation golf course is open year round for play. The golf course was renovated in 2010 and it looks great. The putting greens were renovated in 2012 and the greens were renovated in 2013.

"We love the lifestyle. There are plenty of activities to do. My wife and I can be as active or as quiet as we want. There is a stronger sense of community from the transfer of the facilities to the property owners. Everyone is involved in making the Plantation even better."

"The zen feeling we experience every morning is a thing of beauty only to be rivaled by the extraordinary sunsets. In times of need, we have always been able to count on our neighbors to help, because most families live out of state. This is a comforting experience we didn't expect."
