Clemson and Reserve at Lake Keowee - A Match Made in Football Heaven

Reserve At Lake Keowee Media Golf Outing
Published on September 25, 2013

On July 16, 2013, various media groups were invited to attend Clemson University’s Media Golf Outing at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, an award winning Western South Carolina lake community. The event was hosted by Clemson’s football head coach, Dabo Swinney and took place on the picture perfect Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Although, Dabo Swinney hasn’t made a hole in one yet, he knows how to throw a party and hosted quite a day. Clemson University’s Media Golf Outing included members of the media and the Clemson coaching staff for a day of mixing and mingling while swinging clubs on the golf course.

Members of the media were given the chance to interview Dabo Swinney and each assistant coach before the beginning of the 2013-2014 football season. The coaches shared coverage about new players, exchanged Tiger team memorabilia and signed autographs on the warm sunny day. This is not the first time the media has enjoyed the setting and amenities at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. This Western South Carolina lake community hosted Media Golf Outings over the past few years for football, basketball and most recently, the 2013 BMW Charity Pro-Am Tournament. This past year, the tournament was broadcasted internationally on the Golf Channel and raised more than $9.25 million for more than 150 nonprofit organizations. The next golfing event coming up is the Annual Reserve at Lake Keowee Charitable Foundation Golf Classic on October 22, 2013.

The Reserve at Lake Keowee enjoys being in the spotlight sharing everything the community has to offer including its newest model home on Lake Keowee in The Village. From golf to boating, tennis to fishing, more than 650 families have already chosen to live here full time or seasonally. Located far enough away from the big city lights but close enough to tailgate and watch championship collegiate football at Clemson University.

At the beginning of the year, Anderson Life Magazine featured Dr. Sophie Woorons-Johnston on the cover of its Winter 2013 issue. Dr. Sophie Woorons- Johnston is The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s pro tennis player and community icon.

Real Golf Radio raved about the peaceful serenity and great experience at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Lake Keowee Resident Jerry Post has been racing cars for more than 20 years with his friend Howard Imhof at Post Racing, proving that his life is just as fun and energetic as when he first started racing.

This summer, Greenville News readers voted The Reserve at Lake Keowee as 2013 Best Community of the Upstate. Accolades just keep rolling in for this beautiful Western South Carolina lake community!

The Reserve at Lake Keowee and the media have become good friends in the past years.
