We were thoroughly impressed when we discovered the Southwest Florida gated community, the Renaissance. Centrally located in the heart of Lee County, near both Daniels Parkway and Interstate 75, the traditional country club is located on the posh corridor of South Fort Myers in one of the best Florida retirement cities. One of the lowest density Naples Florida golf course communities in the state, The Club at Renaissance won the title “Community of the Year” from the local home builders association and in 2004, Best Clubhouse by the Lee BIA.

Membership to the Spa & Racquet Club is included with the purchase of property here and entitles homeowners to use the USTA Racquet Club as well as the fitness center which has a cardiovascular theater, flex room for aerobics, yoga, dance and other classes, free weights & resistance equipment for strength training and convenient locker rooms with showers. Personal trainers are also available to all members by appointment. Members enjoy laps in the swimming pool, relaxing in the hydrotherapy tub or steam rooms and catching up on rays on the sundeck.

The spa services offered at the club include everything from deep-tissue massage, Swedish, reiki and hot stone massages to facials such as European treatments, a Himalayan Salt Scrub, manicures & pedicures, not to mention seaweed wraps, waxing and more, all performed by fully-licensed and qualified estheticians and massage therapists A snack bar is also open every day so you and your guests can fill up on nutritious goodies like protein shakes or smoothies. The Renaissance has excellent health and wellness facilities.

Activities offered by the club's tennis program include an annual member–guest tennis invitational, demonstrations & exhibits, individual or group lessons, ladies’ & men’s clinics, Round Robin, and themed tennis activities, just to name a few. Enjoy state-of-the-art equipment in the club's fitness facility where you’ll find a pool, spa, and terraced sun deck overlooking the driving range and exquisitely landscaped gardens. Poolside food and beverage service will make you feel like you're living in a five-star resort during your Florida retirement living.

Designed by world-famous architect Arthur Hills, The Club at Renaissance stretches for over 7,000 yards from the back tees. Arthur Hills is known for designing in Naples Florida golf course communities courses that are playable, but challenging, and which exhibit a keen sense of environmental responsibility. Life here naturally revolves around the golf course, where a limited number of optional private golf memberships (only 275) are available. This ensures that you’ll be able to use the golf course whenever you desire, that the country club environment is kept intimate, and that all provided services not only meet - but exceed - member expectations. A full membership provides unfettered access to all facilities including fitness equipment, golf with no green fees, swimming, and tennis. There are also a number of special "Golf Member Only" events such as the Club Championship Tournament, Golf Clinics, Ladies'Day, Men's Day, Nine & Dine, and Tournament Events. Private dining at the clubhouse offers the choice of casual dining outdoors at either the Turn House or terrace as well as indoors at the Grille Room. Formal dining is offered on selected weeknights and special occasions in the club's Rotunda Dining Room. Social club membership is mandatory. Golf club membership is optional and fees are approximately $7,300 per year plus a refundable deposit between $60k-$80k.

The Club at Renaissance is close to everything you need in one of the best Florida retirement cities. For example, Southwest Florida International Airport is just a few miles away and I-75 provides easy access to the north and south. Surrounded by grocery stores and health care providers including a quality hospital. You’ll also find movie theaters, museums and performing arts venues, farmers markets restaurants, shopping malls and specialty shops, as well as sports stadiums. Nearby beaches include those on Captiva, Estero, and Sanibel Islands; and there’s also the yacht basin with its docks and the marina, which is owned and operated by the City of Fort Myers. It's hard to beat Florida retirement living at the Renaissance.

As the gated community is in its final stages of development, there are still a few options to choose from. There are five neighborhoods at The Club at Renaissance, each with its own character and views. All in all, 390 homes are planned at the project's completion. Approximately 270 homes are built to date. Buyers can choose a home site to build a dream home. The home sites offer views of either the golf course, lakes or nature preserves. Several builders are offering pre-built single family homes including courtyard and estate homes or you can select one of the luxury coach homes built by Meritage Homes. Preferred builders at the Renaissance include Arthur Rutenberg Homes, Granite Development LLC and The Vintage Group. Home sites start around $200k, luxury coach homes start in the mid $300k's and single-family homes start around $600k reaching beyond $3 million. Square footage varies considerably depending upon the floor plan and custom features in each residence. Whether you prefer coach homes, estate homes, executive homes, or villas, The Club at Renaissance has something for everyone.

The Noonan Academy, Six Mile Charter Academy, and South Fort Myers High School are the closest and best schools to The Club at Renaissance.
