Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and along the west shore of 16,000-acre Tellico Lake, are charming waterfront retirement communities and lakefront homes. Tellico Village is the most popular master planned community and is not age restricted. You won't find high amenity fees or expensive golf club memberships here. You will find lakefront and golf course homes of all sizes and styles and affordable amenity fees. Tellico Village offers 'pay as you play' packages at the three private championship golf courses. A round of golf averages $41 including the cart. Named in Cherokee tradition, there are eight neighborhoods that make up Tellico Village: Chatuga, Chota, Coyatee, Kahite, Mialaquo, Tanasi, Tommotley and Toqua. Rolling hills, scented forests and winding streets ending in cul-de-sacs reflect the small-town charm and peaceful life in Tennessee.

"I've lived in Tellico for over 17 years and I still need to pitch myself everyday. I can't believe I live in such a great place. Everything you want to do, can be done in the village: three golf courses; several tennis and pickle ball courts; 4 restaurants, including a yacht club; a social club for any interest. Tellico is near Knoxville: and good health care; a major airport; University of Tennessee and college sports. Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, the Smokey Mountains are less than an hour away. Not to mention Nashville or Atlanta are about 3 hours away. Tellico is located near the exit where I40 and I75 intersect. Michigan, New York , Texas and Florida are all within a day's drive from Tellico. Tellico Lake is actually part of the inter-coastal. You could take your boat to Michigan or Florida from Tellico. No state income taxes in Tennessee. Our property taxes are less than one-third of what we paid in Michigan, even though our Tellico house is worth twice the value of our Michigan house. Best of all, the people in Tellico and surrounding cities of Loudon and Lenoir City are shockingly friendly, "bless their heart." I went into Lenoir City yesterday to pick-up a few groceries and the clerk gave me a personal Christmas Card. Life doesn't get any better. P.S. I forgot to mention how beautiful it is to get up in the morning, look out at the Smokey Mountains and watch some deer run through your back yard."
