Hilton Head Lakes is west Bluffton's fresh water lake and golf community offering affordable new cottage homes priced in the $200k's. The Tommy Fazio championship course is the Lowcountry's newest public golf course and is relatively easy to play. The par 3 short-course, 36 acre practice facility, and golf pro shop add to community's amenities. Life at this Low Country real estate development is all encompassing and is not far from Hilton Head Island beaches, Savannah's River Street and the charming historic town of Beaufort South Carolina, repeatedly named as one of the top places to live in South Carolina.

With all the construction going on, Hilton Head Lakes impressively remains a debt free gated community. The waterway's border miles of shoreline to kayak, canoe and explore by SUP paddleboard. The lakes are continually stocked with fish to challenge freshwater anglers. T

Hilton Head Lakes is a friendly community with almost a dozen active social clubs such as a book club, golf league, Knits Wits, Ladies Luncheons, Men's Poker, Mexican Dominos and Zumba fitness classes.

Of the 4,600 acres, 435 acres have been protected as a nature preserve at this Low Country real estate development. 12 miles of walking and bicycle trails weave through the north and south neighborhoods. This gated community has an open air and spacious feeling about it. Neighborhood streets lead to charming cul-de-sacs. Of the 1,800 homes planned, approximately 115 homes at Hilton Head Lakes have been built to date at one of the newest golf communities in South Carolina. 

California based and publically traded Benchmark Communities acquired Citizen Homes in 2014. Citizen Homes was the most popular home builder at Hilton Head Lakes. Lowcountry cottage homes start at 1,300 square feet and prices begin in the low $200K's. Lots for sale at Hilton Head Lakes can be found in beginning in the $50K's and the developer offers in house financing. Buyers will be hard pressed to find a more affordable new, gated community of this caliber in this region. New shopping centers and retail businesses continue to open along the Highway 278 growth corridor and next to Hilton Head Lakes. Baby Boomers in particular will appreciate Coastal Carolina Hospital being only 3 miles away.

"Hilton Head Lakes is the friendliest community in which we've ever resided. To site our experience with others, we were having 14 visitors come for a week and a resident we had just met offered to loan us some extra patio furniture. Not only did they loan it to us, they delivered it. We're truly happy we chose here. We are away from the large crowds and traffic during the peak season, yet Hilton Head Island and Savannah are just a short distance away."

"My wife and I have lived in the community for a year. It has been an amazing year, watching the Lake Club and the first pool being built, watching new homes going up and meeting an amazing group of neighbors. We love boating on the lakes and enjoying the beautiful weather. The developers are attentive to the community and are helping it develop into a manner that makes it a perfect place to live. "As with most things in life, the people are the most important factor and that is certainly true here. The developers are class people with a several decade track record. We've met many of our neighbors and they are as happy as we are at Hilton Head Lakes. We close to everything; Bluffton, Beaufort, and Savannah. I've seen fish jumping in the lakes, enjoy the 12 miles of walking trails and boatable lakes. It's the best place we've ever lived."
