Grand Haven opened the gates last month to the public, to see the Fall Tour of Homes. Over 300 people took a look at Palm Coast homes in Grand Haven located east of Interstate 95 bordering the Intracoastal Waterway. Although primarily a gated Florida golf community, residents of Grand Haven who are beachgoers have quick access the best beaches, by crossing over the bridges to the north and south reaching Flager Beach. Using history in South Florida as an example, we wondered if visitors at the Fall Tour of Homes recognized the importance of Grand Haven’s physical location.
Growing up in South Florida for 40 years, we watched real estate development quickly expand reaching the edge of the Florida Everglades. Property along the Intracoastal Waterway quickly increased in value and today is the most desirable property on both sides of the bridges. In fact, now that we think about it, there are only a handful of gated Florida golf communities along the Intracoastal Waterway in South Florida. Kudos to Lowe Development Corporation for obtaining this valuable parcel in the late 1990’s creating the vision for Grand Haven Golf Club.
Today, about 1,600 Palm Coast homes are built of the 1,900 planned, spread throughout 23 neighborhoods. Grand Haven Golf Club has the largest collection of model homes in Florida for buyers to see and explore. Unusual to find in golf clubs, buyer’s at Grand Haven are not required to join the golf club although the reciprocal privileges at Hampton Golf Clubs in the Southeast are an added benefit to membership. Grand Haven and the area of Palm Coast were not as hard hit as other cities in Florida, when the real estate bubble burst plummeting home prices. Prices continue to be relatively stable. We see Grand Haven Golf Club has a variety of affordable home choices priced under $250k already in one of the low cost of living cities in Florida.
Avid golfer will no doubt appreciate the quality of the Grand Haven Golf Club Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course which opened in 1998. In Jack’s words “Grand Haven will challenge the skilled player yet, because of some width to the holes, it also will be a fun course that the average player can enjoy”. Three golf holes hug the Intracoastal Waterway, scenic holes just waiting to gobble up your ball at this gated Florida golf community.
Another important attribute of Grand Haven Golf Club is the amount of social clubs and community activities. One of the big concerns we hear from buyer’s is their worry about losing their friends and finding new ones when they move. No need to worry at the Grand Haven because they have one of the most active social calendar’s and longest list of social clubs we've seen.
