The Good and Bad at Fairfield Glade in Eastern Tennessee
We see a transformation taking place right before our eyes. At what point will the number of newer homes exceed the number of older homes, dated homes which need an extreme makeover? When will the Fairfield Glade golf clubhouses be remodeled? We’re not sure.
To us, Fairfield Glade is clearly investing in its aging in place amenities. For example, we toured the new Good Samaritan Society Campus situated on Cedar Ridge Circle. The facility is a comprehensive assisted living facility with senior apartments and rehabilitative services. It’s gorgeous and is already winning awards.
The new Cumberland Medical Center Medical Arts Building at Fairfield Glade opened at the beginning of 2014 providing convenient medical care in the neighborhood. Fairfield Glade has a relatively new top notch Wellness Complex managed by Cumberland Medical Center with indoor swimming pool and large fitness center.
We estimate 20-30 Fairfield Glade are homes under construction priced from the $200k’s and $300k’s. Fairfield Glade new neighborhoods include:
- The Bluffs
- Northridge
- Hickory Ridge
- Wood Ridge
- Heatherhurst
No one can argue that the community has 4 well maintained championship golf courses and the low HOA fees are low at $50 a month. Amenities are paid for a la carte and retirees who don’t play golf like that. Despite the late winter season, the Fairfield Glade golf courses looked great. The Druid Hills pool cabana and tiki bar improvements were under construction. Rumor has it a Dorchester Golf Clubhouse is planned and is the only Fairfield Glade golf course without a clubhouse. The Dorchester new swimming pool is finished and looks great.
The Stonehenge Golf Clubhouse and Druid Hills Golf Clubhouse are dated and we wonder when they will be torn down or remodeled. The Heatherhurst Golf Clubhouse looks modern on the outside and is plain Jane on the inside. What a qualified interior designer could do with the Heatherhurst Golf Clubhouse. If we were asked to choose between medical care in the community or a shiny new clubhouse, we might agree with Fairfield Glade and focus on providing quality medical care to retirees who buy homes in the neighborhood. However, the dated golf clubhouses do not harmonize with the new Fairfield Glade homes.
Some of the roads at Fairfield Glade have been resurfaced since our last visit and are a pleasure to drive. Others were in rough shape with pot holes. The county Peavine Road expansion leading to Fairfield Glade was completed. When the Peavine Road narrows to one lane before you reach Fairfield Glade, hundreds of obnoxious signs on both sides of the road gave us a headache and we wonder why this is permitted. This makes a bad first impression and needs to be addressed by the county.
A transformation is taking place at this 30+ year old non-gated master-planned community in Crossville Tennessee. A combination of new homes and amenities competing with the old. We encourage you to share your thoughts about Fairfield Glade and let us know what matters to you.
