Retiring is more fulfilling in Waynesville, North Carolina with just a stroke of brush or with a simple piece of clay. Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina lies the town of Waynesville. The entire program consists of approximately 60 students and can include a diploma or even an A.A.S. degree after a 2-year program is completed. The diplomas include classes in design, marketing or business, while there are still options for individuals looking to take just one or two classes. For those who want to stay more close to home, they can attend the local Haywood County art classes. 

Downtown Waynesville has upcoming events including art classes for children and adults and is where to begin an Art Crawl. Anelle’s Original Art Lessons is perfect for children visiting the area. From one-day workshops to all summer camps, children can learn the fundamentals of art and have fun while the adults explore their artistic side. Long Grove Art School is taught by a private instructor. From oil paints to water colors, Long Grove Art School is a great place for retirees to make new friends and create something beautiful. Maybe even for a Waynesville NC art gallery to display their masterpieces?

Residents at Sunset Falls at Bald Creek have so much to do in their own communities, but enjoy making time to visit the local art galleries. Waynesville is a terrific town to stroll along and view art exhibits and museums. The Waynesville Gallery Association schedules multiple events a year beginning in May and attracts people from all over the nation providing the perfect opportunity for an Art Crawl. This month the fun is in full swing at the Cedar Hill Studio.

The Cedar Hill Studio will feature pottery, water colors, stained glass and so much more in the month of February. The Earthworks Gallery celebrates their 21st Anniversary and invites residents and visitors to check out their amazing exhibits and store all year round. There are many more mountain art festivals and Waynesville NC art galleries to be seen in this wonderful area. The only problem is deciding which one to visit first!
